On 13th January 2026, as part of the 2026-27 Scottish Budget, the Scottish Government announced that there will be no further contributions to the SLCF beyond 31 March 2026. With the rate of landfill declining this will mark the beginning of the complete closure of the fund and ultimately Fife Environment Trust.
Fife Environment Trust is no longer accepting any new applications for funding.
